Funrobics is an aerobic dancing competition among different barangays of Bacolod City, organizations and the nearby municipalities. All participants and supporters gathered at the Bacolod Bay Center Gym after a morning walk to witness the different aerobic dance presentation.
The event was in cooperation with Philippine College of Chest Physicians Bacolod Chapter that hosted the Lakad Lung and Poster Making Contest prior to the Funrobics competition.
The participants and guests were then welcomed to the event by the founder and chairman of Diabetes Information Team, Dr. Angel Araneta.
After the reading of rules and guidelines of the competition, the panel of judges were introduced and the the competition started.
Funrobics utilizes aerobic movement pattern sequences throughout the routine that is divided into three parts namely warm-up, main aerobic routine and cool down. Each routine run about 5-10mins and the participating team chooses their own concept and music to make their aerobic dance workout fun and exciting. Here are some scenes during the Funrobics competition.
All the teams and participants were able to showcase their talent and prove that age and diabetes is never a hindrance in having a fun and active lifestyle. And after 5 hours of non-stop dancing, the judges were able to come up with the winners.
It was indeed a day filled with fun and exciting activities for all the participants, diabetic patients, doctors, and pharmaceutical companies. DITs advocacy continues as Diabetes should not hinder a person from living an active and happy life.
