Diabetes Free Clinic was created as part of Diabetes Information Team advocacy to provide easy access for free consultation, medications and information among diabetics especially the poor who cannot afford to go to private doctors for check-up and follow-up consultations. It also offers free blood sugar monitoring and free sample medications among its patients.
The free clinic is held every last Sunday of the month at Bishop Manuel Yap Memorial Hall in Sacred Heart (Lupit) Church. The last clinic consultation was last November 30, 2014 and will resume March 2015.

Funrobics is an aerobic dancing competition among different barangays of Bacolod City, organizations and the nearby municipalities. All participants and supporters gathered at the Bacolod Bay Center Gym after a morning walk to witness the different aerobic dance presentation.
The event was in cooperation with Philippine College of Chest Physicians Bacolod Chapter that hosted the Lakad Lung and Poster Making Contest prior to the Funrobics competition.
The participants and guests were then welcomed to the event by the founder and chairman of Diabetes Information Team, Dr. Angel Araneta.
After the reading of rules and guidelines of the competition, the panel of judges were introduced and the the competition started.
Funrobics utilizes aerobic movement pattern sequences throughout the routine that is divided into three parts namely warm-up, main aerobic routine and cool down. Each routine run about 5-10mins and the participating team chooses their own concept and music to make their aerobic dance workout fun and exciting. Here are some scenes during the Funrobics competition.
All the teams and participants were able to showcase their talent and prove that age and diabetes is never a hindrance in having a fun and active lifestyle. And after 5 hours of non-stop dancing, the judges were able to come up with the winners.
It was indeed a day filled with fun and exciting activities for all the participants, diabetic patients, doctors, and pharmaceutical companies. DITs advocacy continues as Diabetes should not hinder a person from living an active and happy life.

Started in 1997 by Dr. Angel Araneta, the Diabetes Information Team (DIT) was created in response to the growing concerns about the rising health threats that diabetes poses seeking to empower the public through right information. Since its foundation, the DIT holds a yearly Diabetes Family Day for its patients and members as a day of camaraderie, fun & games and learning opportunities.
The campaign features a week-long celebration during Bacolod Diabetes Awareness Week eas part of Negros Sugar Summit. Blessed with a perfectly fine weather the event started with an early morning walk around the grounds of Sacred Heart (Lupit) church participated by the patients and their families. Those who get to complete the 5 rounds of walkathon gets prizes and freebies.
It was then followed by a fellowship breakfast at Bishop Manuel Yap Memorial Hall.
A Diabetes forum that featured a 6- mini lecture series on Diabetes Education and Prevention lectured by our Pharma friends was made interactive by involving the participants through recitation and giving of prizes.
A variety of games and raffles were also prepared that definitely put some smile on everyone's face.
Not only that everyone had a lot of fun, laughs and good time in this years Diabetes Family Day Celebration but everybody came home with more knowledge on diabetes as well as information on prevention and management. Big thanks to all the Doctors and members of DIT and to our beloved sponsors who made this event possible and continue to work together for Diabetes prevention.
